The Pilates Method
Pilates is a system of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century that focuses on balancing and conditioning the body through core strengthening, flexibility, and correct breathing. The exercises, performed on either a mat or specialized machines create long and lean muscles, a strong abdominal center and great posture.
With Liz Smith Pilates you will become stronger, longer and more energized as well as gain a deeper connection to your body. Our studio provides a private and serene space to learn, grow and deepen your Pilates practice. With years of experience teaching amongst some of the most notable teachers in the world Liz Smith provides a thorough, intelligent, and challenging approach to all of her sessions. As a client of our studio you will never receive a routine Pilates class. Liz Smith takes into account each individual’s body type and goals and customizes a series of exercises to rebalance and strengthen. Every session will build off of the last so after 10 sessions you will look and feel noticeably different. After 20 sessions with Liz Smith you will be able to explore more advanced work and will have new found freedom in your movement and in your life.
